Estudios de Posgrado

APPLICATION OPEN

Opportunity for U.S. candidates to complete a master’s or Ph.D. degree at a Mexican qualified academic institution.

Opportunity for US candidates to complete a master’s or PhD degree at a Mexican qualified academic institution. The Commission will fund up to 2 academic years for master’s and up to 3 academic years for a PhD. All candidates will receive an initial academic year of funding with the approval of subsequent financial support subject to academic performance and availability of funds.

Applications will be accepted in all fields of study except medicine, veterinary medicine and dentistry.

NOTE: Most Mexican universities will not have their call for applications open before the close of the Fulbright grant. It is therefore not necessary to submit a letter of acceptance. However, candidates are responsible for submitting their university applications and all required documents according to the call for applications. Grantees will not receive the award until they have been admitted into a qualified program. Deferral of the grant to a different year is not allowed.

• Minimum degree: B.S./B.A.

• Candidates will be responsible for applying to a graduate degree program at a Mexican university or academic institution. They must present an admission letter prior to grant start date.

• Candidates who currently have a temporary or permanent resident card to Mexico are not eligible to apply.

• Double citizenship candidates can compete for a grant.

Applicants must secure an affiliation with a Mexican university and present a letter of acceptance prior to receiving the final grant offer.

• Foreign Language Form: For Mexico, the required language level is advanced, and applicants must demonstrate sufficient proficiency to complete their project. All applicants must submit both the Language Self-Evaluation and the Foreign Language Evaluation (completed by a qualified evaluator). Failure to submit these forms will result in the application being considered ineligible.

• Recommendations: Applicants must submit three recommendation letters from individuals who can speak to their academic and professional preparation, adaptability, community engagement, and potential as cultural ambassadors. Recommenders must be registered in the online application system to upload their letters directly; applicants should use institutional email addresses when possible and notify recommenders to expect the system-generated email.

• Transcripts: You must provide transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions from which you received degrees. Transcripts must also be submitted from other institutions where you studied and received 12 or more credits for coursework where the credits are not reflected as transfer credits on your undergraduate transcript.

• Ethical Requirements (if applicable): Applicants proposing research involving human or animal subjects should have their projects reviewed by their home institution’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). If selected, grantees may also need to obtain research clearance by their host institution; affiliation letters should reflect the host institution’s support in this process.
