Grants For Students

Binational Internship Program
Closes: Oct 11, 2016

Program Description

The U.S. Mexico Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange, the Fulbright Commission located in Mexico City, manages a variety of Fulbright-Garcia Robles Grants for both, Mexican and U.S. Students, Professors and Researchers.

One of the Fulbright programs that we offer for U.S. Grantees in Mexico is the Binational Internship Program. This program is unique among Fulbright programs worldwide, and it was created in 1996 to promote mutual understanding among the business communities in Mexico and U.S.

During a ten-month grant period, from September to June, each student participates in an internship at a multinational company located in Mexico. At the same time, students take graduate classes at one of two Mexico´s most prestigious private universities, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), with focus in international business.

For the past twelve years, a total of 108 U.S. students have successfully participated in this program. The program evaluations show that the U.S. students were greatly satisfied with the combination of their work and study opportunities as provided by this Fulbright Bi-National programm offered only in Mexico.
